Breathwork, known in yoga as Pranayama– Prana meaning life-force energy, and Yama meaning to control– is the practice of consciously working with the breath to shift how we feel in both body and mind. It reminds us that simply by changing our breath, we can calm ourselves or energise ourselves from within.
Breathwork became a turning point for me during a particularly stressful period in my life. I was experiencing constant headaches and even started losing my hair due to stress. After just two months of committing to a regular breathwork practice, my headaches became rare and my hair began to grow back. It helped me build awareness of where I was holding tension and gave me the tools to regulate my nervous system and support my overall wellbeing.
I offer both calming and balancing sessions, and stronger, activating breathwork (contraindications apply). My sessions run between 45 minutes to 1 hour, and are designed to help you pause, reconnect, and feel more present.
“It was a fabulous evening- you have a very calming presence. The breathing exercises were very beneficial & a good way to relax- I will be using them to help wind down before going to bed” - Attendee at Wellness Workshop that included breathwork
Breathwork can be included as a standalone session or woven into workshops alongside journaling & mindfulness or a full yoga session- tailored to suit your group’s needs.
